Matt and I have been talking a lot about "home." It's a place of peace we can, with the Holy Spirit's help, work towards inwardly even when the external environment or circumstances are intense or hard.

"We are meant to live here, hidden with Christ (Col. 3:3), rooted in love (Eph. 3:17). This is our truest place. Home begins in Eden, and its memory lingers in us. As Frederick Buechner writes, “At the innermost heart… there is peace… Eden is there. Home is there.” Degroat

If you want to read more about it here is a link to Chuck Degroat's substack with an abridged vision of chapter 3 of Healing What's Within.  I haven't gotten to read the whole book yet but Matt shared this chapter with me and it was very helpful!

One of our prayers for ourselves, our marriage, our kids, our family is to find ourselves at home more and more with each other and Jesus.
On this "epic family road trip" that people keep telling us our kids will remember for the rest of their lives, we've had to reframe and "rehome" many, many times. It's of course been incredibly fun, but also stretching and requiring patience with each other and dependence on the Lord!

How wonderful that the home we are staying at is called "The Haven."
Haven means "a place of safety." A harbor, port, refuge.

Praying that we all can rest in the home that is hidden with Christ in God!
He is our Haven.
