Grand Canyon: South Rim Morning July 1st

Grand Canyon: South Rim Morning

Matt's morning routine, make coffee for the fam and spend time under the trees with Jesus

It was about a 4 hour drive from where we were camping near the North Rim to the South Rim. I didn't quite realize the distance when I booked the sunset tour so we decided to leave bright and early on Tuesday and take time to explore before our tour started.

First look... as they say, pictures don't do it justice.
If we get to go back I'd love to just sit in stillness at the edge for a good hour or two. Obviously that wasn't possible with kiddos, but beholding such grandeur even for the moments we were able to stand in awe was such a gift.

Desert View Tower

This is a trail that will take you down into the canyon. We decided to hike for 30ish minutes down and then back up just to experience it. It was toasty and lots of mule poo but also so incredible to see the canyon at different angles.

We also got to see these mountain goats which was really fun!

The next post will have the sunset tour pictures!
